Milia popularly known as whiteheads are protein (keratin) deposits near your skin which do not have pores.This condition is very common in newborns and is referred to as baby acne,However milia is different from acne and hence require completely different attention.The newborn babies are prone to milia due to improperly or not fully developed oil glands, while but some adults can experience milia near eyes and chin area.
Milia occurs in two forms - primary and secondary
Primary milia appears when dead skin gets trapped in small pockets near the top surface of the skin thereby forming white bumps instead of naturally being removed while secondary milia forms due to an injury or burn to the skin.

There is no specially treatment required for milia, they are completely harmless ,non contagious and usually goes out in 3-4 weeks but we can definitively speed up the process by following these simple methods.

Milia Honey Treatment -Natural Honey has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties this males honey a perfect moisturizing scrub which helps in exfoliate the top layer of skin and  helps in reducing and removing milia bumps.A thick paste of Honey along with small quantity of jojoba oil, oatmeal and Vanilla can be applied.

Paste of roasted and powdered pomegranate with some lime juice acts an antioxidant and can be applied on the milia affected area helps in taking care of the damaging effects of free radicals on skin cells.

Facial Sauna -Apply wet, hot (mild hot with comfortable temperature) face cloth over the skin for a few minutes.This simple facial sauna will helps in loosening and removing dead skin cells from the surface.

Use a gentle scrub to exfoliate and remove the dead skin.This will slowly and gradually coax out the milia's seed as dead skin is removed slowly.So, exfoliate your skin at regular intervals (3 times a week) with a facial scrub but do not scrub excessively.

Rose water and sandal wood make a are a superb combination in combating with milia.Apply the mixture to the milia affected areas and let it dry for 5-10 minutes.After,it needs to be gently removed with warm and wet cloth.

Apply aloe vera juice to milia spots. Aloe vera contains healing ingredients that may help skin's ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin. Apply aloe vera juice twice a day for atleast one month.

Poor hygiene and lack in skin care found to be one of the main cause of skin problems.Wash your face twice daily, not only it will remove dirt but excess oil as it builds up.

Drink ample amount of fresh fruit juice daily. This will help in flushing out the toxins from the body and keep your skin healthy.

You can try using  light moisturizer like EC Mode Oil-Less Moisturizer regularly which will soothe your skin and regularize the sebum production. Never make use of a moisturizer, which has any kind of glycolic acid in it.

The best way to get rid of Milia is to have your dermatologist surgically remove the Milia seeds.If you are particularly prone to Milia, always consult with your dermatologist about the causes. It may be due to an allergic reaction to a certain ingredient of the product that you are using.
